Name: Faye
Age: 24*
What do you like most about your birthday? What I like most about my birthday days…..I feel like I need at least one day a year where I can be/do whatever I want completely guilt-free, like eat jelly for lunch, watch a film and do totally self-indulgent things like interviewing myself from questions I found on the internet.
What’s the best birthday present you have ever received? I’ve actually received loads of really nice presents, but my favourite, or most memorable ones have just been birthday cards. My youngest sister always finds the best cards, and some of them have been so funny (see right). The thing I like best about birthday cards from my family are the kind messages they write in them.
What food do you like to eat on your birthday? For some reason, this year I wanted Raspberry Jelly. I’ve been on a diet so I decided if I was going to take a day off, it’d make it a cheat day. Last year I made a really amazing dinner of Seaweed soup or 미역국 , having learned that it was a meal traditionally eaten on your birthday, and I wanted to try it. I was really impressed at how delicious it was.
What did you learn this year since your last birthday? I always knew, but my sisters really are incredible.
If you had a million pounds, what would you do with it? Honestly, not a lot. I would take a chunk of it and do “boring” things like to settle my debts, create an emergency fund, set aside a deposit for a house, etc. I’ve always wanted to go and have High Tea somewhere fancy, so maybe that. After that, and a six month holiday and having brought a lot of books, I’d split the rest equally between my family and several charities.
What is the best advice that someone has given to you? It’s not actually advice, as such, but the best thing anyone has ever said to me was “everything is out of your control, except your actions and your words.”
When did you start to feel like an adult? I’m not sure I have really. The nearest was probably learning about Council Tax.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life? Outside of my friends and family, I think the biggest influence recently on my life has been the lyrics in some of Agustd’s music.
What would be your dream holiday destination? Right now, it’s Jeju Island, South Korea.
If you could own any pet, what would it be? A Shetland Pony
What are your hopes for the future? I have loads of things I’m working on and I hope will become a success but don’t want to jinx. More recently I’ve been finding myself wanting to be a mother.
How do you want to be remembered? As being kind, charming and free-spirited.
Who is your favourite musician/band? I don’t really have just one. At the moment I’m listening to bands Adoy and the Rose a lot.
What is your favourite movie and why? The Princess Bride – its really weird, but in a really good way, and so funny.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be? To be able to speak every language.
What profession would you like to try at some point? A photographer
What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done? A few years ago two friends of mine convinced me to go skiing. I don’t know what’s more impressive, that they succeeded or I actually went. I entered a ski competition as a beginner, and embarrassed myself in front of a lot of people, but actually all the people watching were so nice and I won a bottle of champagne.
How do you relax? I spend time by myself. I like going for walks and taking photographs. I watch TV and read. If I really need to unwind I like to just sit in bed.
Do you have any tattoos? I have the grand total of one tattoo. It’s a star on my wrist. I’m thinking about getting another one to cover up a scar but I can’t settle on a design.
Do you have a favourite colour? Red
Do you like to plan or do you prefer to go with the flow? I like to go with the flow but be prepared for as much as possible.
Are there any unsolved mysteries that interest you? People really aren’t talking about the alien stuff enough.
What is the most interesting fact about you that not many people know? I have no idea. I don’t find myself particularly interesting. I used to Irish dance?
What is your favourite book? The Dictionary.
Is there anything you regret? My biggest regret is probably not spending enough time with my Granny before she died
What would be your dream job if money was no object? Philanthropist
What are some of your favorite quotes? “If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more.”
