Last week, the record-breaking K-Pop sensation ‘TWICE’ came to London for a 2-day concert as part of the Europe leg of their 5th world tour, ‘Ready to be’. Despite the band totaling 9 members they all shine in their own way. They all have beautiful, unique voices and a great stage presence. It’s easy to see why they are so loved, and generally regarded as being one in a million.
Taking to the stage on what was already a sweet summer day, the 9-member band treated their fans (“ONCE”) to a performance full of colour. They happily announced that this was their first time performing in London and that they were really happy to be here. The concert felt more like a celebration of this than anything else. It was delightful.
Engaging with the audience in a charming and personal way I’ve not really witnessed before, TWICE performed for a good two hours without really showing any signs of tiredness. The same goes for the concert goers who were ready to Dance The Night Away– the energy at the O2 arena for Friday’s performance was full of joy and excitement. The stadium was full of delighted fans.
TWICE’s concert had all the basics that make a great performance, and everything a K-pop fan could want: A Rainbow of Colours. Catchy music. Colourful costumes. Medleys. Solo performances. Exciting stage sets. Confetti. Spinning Wheel Games. Candybongs (TWICE’s lightsticks). Covers. Originals. Fan cams. Dance offs. Emotional fan messages. Good choreography. Lots of waving and hand hearts. You name it!
TWICE are lively, fun & extremely likeable. I have Queen of Hearts and Yes or Yes thoroughly stuck in my head.
I had a great time & I hope to see them perform again before too long.
